Management of Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment
Business to Business
(B2B WEEE)
Take back of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE) from users other than from private households (i.e.
business to business or B2B WEEE) within the State (Republic
of Ireland):
Accutron and the Business User may without prejudice to the
applicable Directive(s), conclude agreements stipulating other
financing methods for the take back of Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (EEE).
Unless an alternative agreement has been made:
Accutron will take back Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE) from sources other than private households arising
from WEEE
- that has been placed on the market prior to 13 August
2005, that Accutron are replacing with similar equipment,
or equipment that will fulfill the same function as the
discarded WEEE, and
- that Accutron places on the market after 13 August 2005.
It is the business user's responsibility for the delivery
of B2B WEEE, arising from EEE placed on the market prior to
13 august 2005, to an appropriate recovery facility and for
financing it’s environmentally sound management in all instances
where it is not being replaced with new EEE of equivalent
type or which will fulfill the same function.
Private Households (B2C WEEE)
Take back of waste electrical and electronic equipment
from private households (B2C WEEE) within the State (Republic
of Ireland):
B2C WEEE will be taken back at least free of charge on a
one-for-one basis as long as the waste electrical and electronic
equipment is of equivalent type or has fulfilled the same
function as the supplied equipment.
B2C WEEE can also be disposed of by the end user at authorised
collection points including local authority civic amenity
sites from 13 August 2005 onwards.
Collection:
Accutron will take back WEEE on a one-to-one basis when the
replacement EEE is being delivered, provided that Accutron
or its representative has given at least 24 hours notice of
delivery, by collecting it on delivery provided it is available
at its place of ordinary use for immediate collection and
at the time of collection is not connected to any electrical,
gas or water supply, waste water pipe, or permanent structure.
Alternatives for take-back of WEEE:
Where such equipment is not available for immediate return,
on account of less than 24 hours notice having been given
for collection,
-
Accutron or its representative will arrange for and collect
it within 15 days of the date of delivery, provided that
the waste electrical and electrical equipment concerned
is not connected to any electrical, gas or water supply,
waste water pipe, or permanent structure, and the user
has been given at least 24 hours notice of collection,
or
-
Accutron or its representative will accept it at any
place of business in the State from which Accutron distributes
electrical and electronic equipment, or,
- As appropriate, at an address in the State, when occupied
by Accutron, within a maximum of 30 days of the date of
delivery.
Should you wish to participate in this take back scheme within
the time limits specified, please contact us. Ensure that
the WEEE is packaged so as to not present a hazard.

The Crossed-Out Wheelie Bin Symbol
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol indicates seperate collection
for electrical and electronic equipment. The bar under the
crossed-out wheelie bin symbol indicates that a product was
placed on the market after 13 August 2005.Users are informed
of the requirement to keep WEEE separate from ordinary household
waste. The user can play an important role in the reuse, recycling
and recovery of WEEE. Not playing their role could have potential
effects on the environment and human health as a result of
the presence of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic
equipment.
